What is SEZ MM2H or SFZ MM2H?
The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) MM2H and Special Financial Zone (SFZ) MM2H programs are designed to attract foreign investors, professionals, and retirees by offering lower financial requirements and exclusive incentives. However, a key legal requirement for both programs is that applicants must purchase property from the Forest City developer.
The JS-SEZ covers over 3,500 square kilometers, encompassing areas within the Iskandar Development Region and Pengerang in Johor—an area nearly five times the size of Singapore. This expansive zone is strategically designed to enhance connectivity and streamline trade between the two countries. Key industries targeted for development include manufacturing, aerospace, tourism, energy, healthcare, and the digital economy.
Aiming to attract 50 high-value projects and create 20,000 skilled jobs within the first five years, the JS-SEZ is poised to drive transformative growth. Over the next decade, the goal is to reach 100 projects, solidifying the zone as a hub for innovation and investment. All applications must be made through licensed MM2H tourism operators. This ensures that the application process is handled professionally and that all necessary documentation and procedures are followed correctly. Individual or walk-in applications are no longer accepted.
All applications, whether new or for renewal, must be submitted through the MM2H One Stop Centre. This centralized processing point handles all immigration and approval matters, which are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Immigration Department of Malaysia. Even appeals for rejected applications must be directed to the Minister of Home Affairs.
